Toledo's Must-Taste Delicacies
Toledo City’s Puto Lancho: The Sweet Rice Cake
The Puto Lancho of Toledo City is by the reflection of the place and
its people. Sweet and sticky, it represents the Toledanos sense of
hospitality despite much of their time is spent doing hard labor as it
is shown in the copper mine which is the largest in the country.
Puto Lancho is made from ground sticky rice mixed with coconut milk
and sugar. The honest and rough taste of the delicacy speaks for the
whole who want the kind of snack that is compact yet heavy. An energy
booster packed with lots of carbohydrates and sugar. The Puto Lncho when
prepared requires a lot of time, work and energy. When preparing it, it
requires a lot of stirring until you get the desired consistency. For
aesthetic purposes, you can color part of it then pack them into
bite-sized goodies.
